Bloom is excited to announce that NEPO’s innovative approach to procuring specialist professional services has been shortlisted for a prestigious LGC 2018 Award in the Innovation category. NEPO’s award entry demonstrates how NEPRO, the neutral vendor approach delivered by Bloom, is delivering benefits to the wider public sector in the procurement of specialist professional services.
Steven Sinclair, Head of Procurement at NEPO, commented “This announcement is very exciting news for NEPO and its Member Authorities. NEPO has worked closely with our delivery partner, Bloom, to maximise the benefits of NEPRO across the public sector, providing choice through a dynamic supply chain, supporting social value and driving quality outcomes. Being shortlisted gives NEPO the opportunity to showcase our achievements and share learning across the wider public sector.”
Steven continued “This announcement is testament to the effective partnership between NEPO and Bloom, our delivery partner for NEPRO. Bloom have responded to the challenges faced by the public sector and delivered a robust and innovative route to appoint specialist professional services, whilst also providing support to suppliers.”
Councillor Veronica Dunn (Newcastle City Council), Collaborative Procurement Sub-Committee Chair, said “NEPRO has been widely adopted across the UK public sector and continues to grow from strength to strength, delivering choice and value for money to the sector. I am delighted that the innovation and achievements reflected in our award entry have been recognised alongside our fellow local government finalists.”
Rob Levene, Managing Director Bloom, said “Bloom are proud to be part of this market making and innovative solution, all because NEPO were brave enough to take the step when others were still contemplating it. And we are delighted that over 100 local authorities, plus other public sector bodies, across the UK are currently using the NEPRO solution.”
Now in its 22nd year, the LGC Awards is the biggest celebration of excellence in local government. The award winners will be announced at the LGC Awards ceremony on 21 March 2018.
