At Bloom, we strive to be the best, both for our customers and each other. We never forget the importance of what we do, and how the outcomes positively benefit the communities in which we all live.
We believe in the talent of our people. Work with others who are passionate and care about what they do. Thrive in a culture built on hard work and team spirit, where you add real value. You’ll have an impact on our mission to deliver an outstanding customer experience, and in making the vision a reality.
The journey will sometimes be challenging, yet you’ll learn and grow, and always know you’ve made a difference.
We offer a dynamic supply chain providing the public sector with a marketplace to buy and manage services. Those services turn in to projects that make a difference, and ultimately make the places we all call home, better places to live. We are always looking for people with diverse backgrounds who can join us. Hear from some of our customers about how what we do has helped them:
Since our journey began back in 2012, we have seen the business grow, change and evolve into the one we are proud of today.
Our colleague community is still growing, and we want you to be a part of it. We’re proud of our award nominations and wins. But that’s not what makes us, us. It is our family and community spirit – we all want to see each other succeed and thrive both professionally and personally, in an environment where colleagues are valued. As a result, we’ve introduced several benefits, flexible working, and we do fun things at work like charity fundraising – there’s even been a bit of pancake tossing!
Why should you consider us for your next role? Well there are a number of reasons – we are fast-growing which means you are always learning, we empower our teams, we work in an open culture of transparency, and we really want to make Bloom somewhere people enjoy working every day. And of course, we have fun along the way! But rather than us tell you why you should choose Bloom, we thought it would be best if we let the team tell you why they think Bloom would be the right place for you.
*Disclaimer – we sometimes run out of tea and coffee, so if that is a dealbreaker for you, you should probably walk away now…but please don’t judge!
You can take up to 25 days annual leave – plus the 8 bank holidays – and you can also buy up to 5 days, paid back over 12 months.
We want to reward all of us for our success, therefore every colleague is eligible for our bonus scheme. You don’t have to wait for that once a year, we run it quarterly, keeping our focus on the short as well as the long term.
Our Gateshead Quayside workspace (with a lovely outdoor area for creative thinking, or just relaxing!) makes it easy to reach us. Those visiting our customers, or at home, never lose touch, with our first rate technology allowing us to communicate and collaborate easily.
We support our colleagues in and out of work – we offer a wellbeing hub, pension scheme, paid sick leave, free health cash plan, cycle to work scheme, discounts on healthy life initiatives, and more.
When it comes to wellness in the workplace, we are always looking at ways we can improve the happiness of our team. As a close-knit team, we understand that energy is catching, and for us to succeed as a business we ensure we are doing whatever we can to look after everyone. We offer:
At Bloom it is our Vision to provide a professional services marketplace that delivers brilliant outcomes. It is our Mission to deliver an outstanding customer experience and maximum value for every pound spent on professional services, whilst ensuring our Purpose of enabling brilliant outcomes today that build a better tomorrow is always at the heart of what we do.
At Bloom your voice and your opinion matter – so much so we have partnered with Hive HR and launched a platform to allow our people to provide feedback at any time, which means we are always listening! In addition, we have co-created our Trademark Behaviours to move us towards a commitment culture. These behaviours are our non-negotiable behaviours and were developed with input from across the business, led by our very own cultural architects.
We work together
We are real and true
We are curious
At Bloom we are making it easier for public sector buyers to deliver on their social value goals through our marketplace. Not only that, we are making positive steps to promote social value within the business. We encourage people to go out into their communities, each colleague gets a day per year to support a charity.
Bloom is proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that every member of staff working for us will earn a real Living Wage.
The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week.
Thousands of organisations, including Bloom, voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage because we believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
This commitment applies to not only directly employed staff but also to our third party contracted staff. The Living Wage movement has benefited hundreds of thousands of families by enabling them to earn a wage they can live on.
You can find out more about the Living Wage by visiting www.livingwage.org.uk.
